Meet the Fundamentally Children NED board

In 2018, we started to lay out plans to create a non-executive directors (NEDs) board here at Fundamentally Children. The aim of creating the board is to support the team’s professional development through training exercises, as well as tapping into their specialist knowledge.

Now in 2019, we are pleased to announce we have appointed four NEDs to our board, who will be bringing their wide range of expertise to the team and the company’s strategy as a whole.

John Crane

First up is John Crane, toy industry guru. Crane launched his eponymous wooden toy company in 1984 and has been a stalwart member of the toy industry ever since. He retained his position as MD through many changes, right up until the firm closed in 2017. His knowledge of the business is second to none and his career history brings a wealth of knowledge to the Fundamentally Children team.

Richard Hollis

Next is a leader in licensing, Richard Hollis,  head of retail at Rocket Licensing. Hollis has enjoyed a long career in licensing with stints at BBC Worldwide, Hallmark and Dreamworks Animation, before landing his recent role at Rocket. Along with the other NEDs, he has already helped to guide the team to help expand and grow the business.

Ted Frith

Also joining our board of NEDs is financial, sales and marketing expert, Ted Frith who is currently the COO at Glil Infrastructure. Frith has over 25 years of experience in senior management roles, distribution and sales and marketing.

Erika Brodnock

And last but by no means least, the founder of Zinc VC and Karisma Kidz, Erika Brodnock is on the board. Brodnock has a strong background in e-learning and business development, as well as a wealth of experience in PR and media.

Amanda Gummer, founder and MD, Fundamentally Children, commented:

“I’m enjoying having the support of the non-executive directors and access to their broad skill set and expertise is really helping to accelerate the growth of Fundamentally Children.”
